Skinner Games' new offering in our Iconic Locations series is a map for a field of ruined statues!

Because every fantasy world has obligatory ruins, we're offering a 24x30 inch map filled with trees, ruins and giant faces. Was this the site of an ancient civilization or the ruins of the city standing against a Dark Overlord?

Skinner Games was created out of a love for gaming and a desire to create the games and settings the creators would like to play. The creators have known each other for many years and have a mutual love of games of all kinds. Though they have often discussed making games over the years, it wasn't until recently that they decided to actually give it a shot. Thus, Skinner Games was born! With an eye looking back at what made games fun for them through the years, we look to the future of tabletop gaming. Skinner Games closely analyzes the trends from the past and deconstructs contemporary systems in the hope of producing games that will be at the forefront of the industry. ;We do our best to create quality poduct at a cheap price. Our goal is to try and make gaming a fun and affordable experience again. ;

Keep an eye on our website, , for updates on our blog. You can also track us on , , and .

We also have a new YouTube show rolling forward that has been in development for many years. One day, while coveting the collection we've amassed over the years as we design our own games ;and discussing podcasts, the thought hit us,"You know what would be a fun show? A bunch of guys sitting around trying to play old school games." The idea for was born! Watch us stumble through the 1st Edition of the world's first roleplaying game and as many of the subsequent games as we own or can get our greedy little hands on. Watch noobs and veteran alike navigate through mainstream, Euro, and Indie game history. Like us and subscribe for future updates!

Happy gaming!

Paul,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We're sorry the previews has been giving you issues.

Does the publisher preview link not work at all? We tested it on three different mediums (phone, tablet, and laptop), logged in and logged out, and haven't noticed this issue. We uploaded the image again, just in case.

Please contact us if the problem persists, or anyone else has the same problem, and we can email you the image instead.

In the meantime, we'll keep an eye on it and see if there's something we may be missing.

Thank you,

Skinner Games

When I click on the Publisher Preview above I get a whitescreen for a second and then I return to this page, that's it.

When I go to Skinner Games http://skinnergames.weebly.com/ and click on products- tiles (any) I just sent to drivethrurpg.

Obviously it's my PC, but for the life of me I'm not sure how and why.

Cheers PDR

Hmmm...we still can't figure out the issue form our end. We have been having problems trying to embed a picture in the description for a few days, though. So it may not be entirely your issue.

Our website does redirect people to DriveThruRPG. We didn't think it was a great idea to have product pages on our site only to redirect to an additional product page with similar info. DriveThru is currently the only place you can find our tiles.

However, we did just make an update to our blog and posted the same image there we used for the publisher preview. You can find that here: http://skinnergames.weebly.com/news/a-few-minor-things

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
